Programme Details
Bengal Educational College observed the Day of Remembrance of the Partition of Bengal on 14 August 2026 at the College Multipurpose Hall. The programme was organised to create historical awareness among students about the Partition of Bengal and the displacement, loss, suffering and socio-cultural consequences experienced by the people during the period of Partition and Independence.
The programme commenced with an opening session and recitation, followed by an address by the Teacher-in-Charge. A historical presentation was conducted highlighting important aspects of Partition and its impact on the people of Bengal. Students and teachers delivered speeches reflecting on the historical significance of the occasion and the values of courage, resilience, peace and communal harmony.
The programme also included an oath-taking ceremony, historical exhibition/presentation and the inauguration of a specially prepared Wall Magazine. Students actively participated in the various activities and presentations. Approximately 95 students and 25 teaching and non-teaching staff members participated in the programme.
The observance provided an opportunity for students to understand an important chapter of history and encouraged them to uphold the values of peace, unity, mutual respect and social harmony. The programme was documented through photographs and video recording for institutional record and academic documentation.
